Arsenal go into tonight’s Champions League match up against Bayern Munich with a two goal deficit to overturn after suffering a 2-0 loss in the first leg at the Emirates last month. Unsurprisingly, Bayern Munich are ComeOn! favourites to reclaim their Champions League trophy and be the first club team to win back to back tournaments since Milan did it in 1989/1990. With this in mind, it’s fair to say The Gunners will have their work cut out at the Allianz arena this evening. Let’s look ahead to tonight’s game.
Historically, German club sides have been typically strong at home in European competitions and given Bayern’s form both domestically and abroad in recent times, it’s no shock they start tonight’s game as 1.30 favourites.
Arsenal will have to make do without midfield talisman Jack Wilshere after he got injured on international duty last week. They will also have to make the trip down to Germany without the injured Kieran Gibbs and suspended first-choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny. Bayern meanwhile will be without Toni Kroos and Holger Badstuber for tonight’s game.
