Leicester began their Champions League adventure with a win over Club Brugge but Porto are a much bigger test for Claudio Ranieri’s men on Tuesday.
The Foxes came in for me in Belgium but I’m going to oppose them this week against a team with plenty of Champions League experience.
Leicester’s defending against Manchester United at the weekend was atrocious at times and a similar display later today will spell trouble for the Premier League champions. The Foxes conceded three from corners at Old Trafford and Porto are dangerous from set pieces, which gives further encouragement to get behind the away side.
Porto have just one point to show from their last two games on the road in Portugal’s top flight but they grabbed an impressive 3-0 win at Roma in a Champions League qualifier earlier in the season, although the Italian side did have two men dismissed after going 1-0 down.
The visitors have big-game experience and a rising star in 20-year-old forward Andre Silva, who grabbed two goals against Boasvista at the weekend to take his tally to five goals in 10 matches this season. Silva is 23/10 to score any time and 13/2 to open the scoring.
It is a big ask for Porto but, at 12/5, they are my top bet for this Champions League fixture. The value is with the Portuguese giants and having demonstrated their credentials with a win at the Stadio Olimpico in a crucial qualifier they will not be daunted by the King Power Stadium.
Both teams to score is a tempting 10/11 given Leicester will be up for this clash and boosted by the home crowd. However, if Porto can weather an early storm or grab an early goal themselves they should be able to pick up a first group stage victory having been held by a stubborn FC Copenhagen outfit in their opener.
