Roma’s persistence is paying off as they have close the gap to leaders Juventus to just four points with two games to play.
The Old Lady’s dismal form of late (largely due to focusing on Champions League commitments) has left the capital side believing they can snatch the most unlikely of league titles from under the noses of their illustrious counter parts.
This weekend sees Roma kick off their penultimate match of the season a day before Juventus and the Romans could be just one point behind them at the close of play on Saturday.
However, for that to be the case, they will need to overcome a stubborn Chievo side boasting home advantage.
Chievo are over their blip of five losses in a row and come into the game after a win and two draws in their last three.
On paper, Roma should get the job done at 4/19 with us, however, Chievo can be tricky opposition and a draw at 21/4 would not be a huge surprise with Roma the side with more to lose.
Whatever Roma do on Saturday afternoon will pail into insignificance if Juventus can get the three points at home against a relegation battling Crotone on Sunday.
Like Roma, on paper, this should look like a done deal but Crotone are the form side in the league and despite being dead and buried two months ago, are now on the cusp of the greatest escapes.
Manager Davide Nicola has been performing miracles for the newly promoted side after guiding the team on an unbeaten seven game run which has included wins over Inter Milan and Sampdoria.
From relegation favourites, Crotone now sit just one point from safety behind Empoli in seventeenth.
Juventus will need to be wary and despite Juventus holding home advantage, Crotone will look to exploit Juventus careful approach due to a Champions League date against Real Madrid still to play.
The draw is a tempting prospect 6/1 with us whilst Crotone are 15/1 and the Old Lady are 4/25 to take the three points and win the Serie A title on home soil.
Inter Milan’s recent run of form has left everyone associated with the club scratching their heads.
Winless since demolishing Atalanta 7-1 back In March, the Nerazzurri have now lost their lost four games in a row with the Inter Milan ultras leaving after 25 minutes against Sassuolo last weekend.
Things do not get any easier for Inter with a trip to fourth place Lazio on Sunday to contend with.
Lazio cannot catch the top three but a win over Inter will guarantee the Eagles fourth place and Europa league football next season.
Inter are 11/5 for the win which looks unlikely with Lazio a strong 11/10 on home turf to get the job done.
If Juventus win at home against Crotone on Sunday, they are Champions.
However, Crotone are the form side in the league and are seven games unbeaten and on the cusp of pulling off the greatest relegation escape of all time.
A draw would not be disastrous for either side at 6/1 with us.
