5 Betting Tips for the 2017/2018 La Liga Season

La Liga returns to action this weekend with Real Madrid eager to mimic last season’s success. However, having won the La Liga title and Champions League, one almost feels sorry for Zinedine Zidane who has surely set the bar so high that unless he repeats last season’s feat may face a difficult relationship with the Real hierarchy.

With that in mind and a debutant to the La Liga ranks in Girona FC, we take a look at five solid betting tips ahead of the new campaign.

Real on Song to Defend Title

It is all change for Real Madrid’s closest rivals Barcelona this season and that could keep Real top for at least another season whilst the Catalans find their feet once more.

Former Bilbao, Olympiacos and Valencia coach Ernesto Valverde is the man at the helm charged with guiding Barce back to the top but the Blaugrana will have to do it without the help of Neymar Jr after his astronomical move to PSG for a whopping £190m.

Who will fill Neymar’s boots remains to be seen but the departure of a key cog for Barce ony strengthens Real’s title credentials and at 5/6 with us to win what is essentially a two-horse race is a pretty tempting price.

New boys to make a swift departure

Levante and Getafe earned promotion back to the top flight but it is Girona FC’s rise to La Liga which is a nicer story.

The minnows from the Catalonia region of Spain are making their first ever appearance in Spain’s premier division after ending runners-up in the Segunda division last time out.

Former Numancia player and head coach Pablo Machín is the man charged with making a quick impact.

With no star names in the side, Girona may face a baptism of fire and find it difficult going. Unfortunately this makes the white and reds 5/7 with us to head straight back to the second tier.

Sevilla Top Four?

Sevilla’s early to mid season form may have diminished dramatically last season but the Los Rojiblancos still finished the campaign five points ahead of Villarreal.

Despite the departure of highly rated head coach Jorge Sampaoli to the Argentinian national side, his replacement Eduardo Berizzo is a more than capable replacement.

Sevilla are a tempting 21/20 with comeon.com to finish in the top four once more.

Suarez top goalscorer

Once again Messi is favourite to be top goal scorer in La Liga this season at 20/21 but it is his teammate Luis Suarez who may benefit from Neymar’s departure especially in front of goal.

Suarez still found the back of the net 29 times last season (8 less than Messi) but could find himself the main target man. At odds of 19/10 with us, Suarez is too good a price to ignore for top goal scorer.

Atletico Winners without Real or Barcelona

Sounds like a given right? And it pretty much is. However, you can still get Atletico at 4/9 with us to win the league without Barcelona or Real Madrid and that looks a great price.

It’s all systems go once more for an action packed season of La Liga football.
