Back Mourinho to frustrate Blues

Jose Mourinho will take centre stage on Sunday when Manchester United visit his former side Chelsea.

Mourinho has been criticised for his sterile approach to recent matches against Liverpool and Tottenham but United kept clean sheets in both of those encounters and are 41/20 to do the same at Stamford Bridge.

United will be confident of taking at least a point against a team that have lost their way recently, producing arguably their worst display of the campaign in the 3-0 Champions League drubbing against Roma in midweek.

That result means Antonio Conte’s side have only kept one clean sheet in their last eight matches in all competitions – the 1-0 victory at Bournemouth last weekend.

The Blues have missed the likes of injured duo Victor Moses and N’Golo Kante in the last few weeks, while David Luiz has performed poorly. The absence of Nemanja Matic, who was so oddly allowed to move to Old Trafford in the summer, has also been key to Chelsea’s struggles and he is 11/1 to score at any time against his former club on Sunday.

Romelu Lukaku has been at the centre of some United fans’ ire in the last few weeks but he is 15/4 to get back on the goal trail this weekend by scoring the first goal at Stamford Bridge in what looks set to be a low-scoring encounter. A 1-0 United victory can be backed at 7/1.

Mourinho’s side have a habit of scoring late goals this term with substitutes often finding the net, as was the case last weekend when Anthony Martial came off the bench to score the only goal of the match against Tottenham.

Martial is 31/20 to score at any time on Sunday while former Chelsea star Juan Mata is 19/2 to score the first goal in the match.

In this fixture last season, the Blues ran out 4-0 winners while they also knocked United out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

United have a dreadful recent record at Chelsea – they have only won once in 15 attempts west London since 2002 – but are 41/20 to triumph in Sunday’s encounter.
