Bayer Leverkusen are unbeaten at home this season and that record faces its sternest test this evening when Bayern Munich head to the BayArena as the German top flight resumes.
The hosts sit fourth in the standings and have managed four wins and four draws in their eight Bundesliga outings so far.
However, Bayer haven’t managed to beat any of the teams currently above them in the table on home soil, having been held to draws by both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. Bayer also haven;t lost against any of the sides above them all season as they managed a point at Schalke earlier in the season – but the visitors could just edge this one.
Bayern are missing star forward Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels is absent at the back in two major blows but they have enough quality to cope regardless. The league leaders have won six of their nine games on the road so far this season and have a good record against Leverkusen with three wins in the last five meetings.
Bayern haven’t managed a win at the BayArena since 2013, drawing four and losing one of the five meetings there since, and that is a cause for concern. However, the way they have been playing under Jupp Heynckes has been impressive and on recent performances I’m expecting them to claim all three points.
Bayern are 10/11 to claim the win and the 19/10 on an away win with both teams to score is my top bet in this match-up. Both teams have scored in five of Bayer’s last six competitive home games and the hosts won’t relinquish their unbeaten home record without a fight.
