Spurs host Juventus this evening in a finely-poised Champions League last-16 tie this evening and I’m anticipating another tight affair between these two sides.
Juve looked on course to romp to a big win in the first leg as they went 2-0 up inside the first 10 minutes but Tottenham fought back and claimed a 2-2 draw – and the advantage of two away goals.
The fact Spurs scored twice in Turin means Juve know they have to score at Wembley if they are to progress but they are unlikely to go full throttle early on, as they will be confident a goal will come at some stage in the match.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have an impressive home record and they head into the game on the back of seven successive wins, while they are unbeaten at Wembley since late October. Juve themselves are unbeaten since November – a run stretching 20 games in all competitions – and this has the makings of a real European battle.
With both sides in excellent form and given how tight the first leg was we may well see another draw this evening, which is my top bet at 49/20.
I landed an exact score bet yesterday as Real Madrid overcame PSG 2-1 so I’ll have another crack tonight and a 1-1 result in the exact score market – which would see Spurs progress – appeals at 21/4.
