Daily Tips – Barcelona can finish Roma off in style

Barcelona hold a commanding 4-1 lead over Roma ahead of tonight’s Champions League quarter-final second leg meeting between the two sides in Italy.

The Catalan giants were hugely dominant in the first leg at Camp Nou and should be able to claim another comfortable victory this evening.

Roma know they need to go on the attack and hunt an early goal if they are going to stand any chance of staying in the tie and the fact they managed an away goal means they do have a glimmer of hope. However, all-out attack doesn’t suit the Giallorossi’s style of play and Barca should get plenty of opportunities on the counter.

The La Liga outfit are 20/31 to secure a victory at the Stadio Olimpico but I reckon they can win with a bit of room to spare this evening and the 31/20 on a Barcelona win with a -1 handicap is my top bet in this Champions League clash.

Barca have drawn their last three away games in Europe but against Chelsea in the previous round the away leg was the first meeting, whereas this time they have an advantage and Roma are already chasing the game.

The other European clash today sees Premier League pair Manchester City and Liverpool meet at the Etihad Stadium. The Reds hold a 3-0 lead and look worth the risk at 21/4 to secure another win over Pep Guardiola’s men. I’m fairly sure I’ve not gone against City all season but after two successive defeats it looks like they’ve started to wobble at the wrong time.

Admittedly I also wouldn’t be surprised to see City win either and this is a selection based more on the value that Liverpool offer and the fact cup football can be so unpredictable.

The hosts have not been in this situation where they’ve had to recover a huge deficit this year and it remains to be seen how they will deal with that, and the longer the visitors can keep them at bay the more likely City are to become frustrated and desperate.

Liverpool have already beaten City twice this season and at such a big price they are worth some consideration ahead of this one.
