Town and Eagles to ease worries

Huddersfield Town and Crystal Palace can clinch narrow home victories on Saturday and ease their relegation concerns.

The Terriers have only emerged victorious in two of their last 15 matches but have an uncanny knack of triumphing in must-win games – and for them Saturday’s encounter is just that.

David Wagner’s team beat the Hornets 4-1 at Vicarage Road in December but this weekend’s match is sure to be a tighter affair with a nervy one-goal win for Huddersfield available at 57/20.

Palace have picked up a worrying habit of conceding late goals recently that has cost them vital points but Roy Hodgson’s men still have enough quality to move clear of trouble.

This week’s opponents are rivals Brighton, who have a very difficult run-in and are not yet safe, and a 2-0 victory for the Eagles can be backed at 31/4 with Hodgson’s team 5/4 to keep a clean sheet.

Victories for Palace and Huddersfield will leave Southampton in the mire and, although they produced a lively display in Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at much-changed Arsenal, the best they can hope for against Chelsea is a draw, available at 27/10.

Swansea City, after their excellent run in January, have stuttered recently and may come to rue their failure to beat West Brom last weekend. Everton have been terrible on their travels this season but can record a rare away success at 2/1, while Sam Allardcye’s team are 8/1 to win from behind at the Liberty Stadium.

It may be a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show for Liverpool following their Champions League exploits when they entertain Bournemouth but a victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men and both teams to score at Anfield can be backed at 6/5.

Leicester City have won their last two away games at West Brom and Brighton but that run may come to an end at Turf Moor where Burnley are 6/1 to triumph 1-0.

Manchester City will have to wait another week until sealing the Premier League title as they look set to draw at Wembley, at 51/20, against a Tottenham side that have not lost in the Premier League since their 4-1 setback at the Etihad in December.
