Manchester City are arguably enduring their worst spell since Pep Guardiola took charge and Saturday’s trip to Tottenham is probably not what they need at this point.
Any issues City had last season could be put down to a bedding in period for the Catalan coach, and this year that offered so much promise just a few weeks ago is now in danger of ending as a bit of a damp squib.
The title may be all but assured but they really should have got over the line against rivals Manchester United last weekend and now they are out of Europe there may well be an air of disappointment in the City camp at Wembley for the late kick off today.
Spurs saw a seven-game winning run at home ended by Juventus in their last home fixture but they haven’t played at their temporary stadium for over a month now. Since then Tottenham have recorded four successive wins and they’ll be keen to make a statement by adding to City’s misery this weekend.
In Italy Torino have been in good form with three successive victories, including a win over Inter Milan last time out, and they can see off Chievo at 5/4, while in Spain’s La Liga Athletic Bilbao can beat visitors Deportivo La Coruna to zero at 6/4.
