Most of the golf fans heading to the Topwin Golf and Country Club in Beijing this week for the Volvo China Open are hopeful of seeing another home victory in the event.

A Chinese player has won the tournament in two of the last three years, with Haotong Li (14/1 Outright Betting) the last to lift the trophy in 2016.

The 22-year-old has already shown on the world stage what a big future he has at the top level, with impressive displays in Majors and WGC events.

Li, who finished third at last year’s Open Championship, tied for 32nd at the Masters earlier this month and also secured a T7 finish at the WGC-HSBC Champions event in 2015, when he was just 19 years old.

The man from Hunan (25/1 First Round Leader) has already won on the European Tour this year – with victory in the Dubai Desert Classic in January and he has proven in the past that he can deal with the expectation on home soil.

Nobody has a better record at the China Open than Alexander Levy, who warmed up for this week by winning the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco.

The Frenchman (23/10 Top Five Finish) has lifted the title twice in Beijing, including last year when he beat South African Dylan Frittelli in a play-off.

Levy has high hopes of making this year’s European Ryder Cup team for the match in Paris, so expect another big week from the 27-year-old – who was also tournament victor in 2014.

Another player to watch for, at a big price, is New Zealander Ryan Fox. The son of former Rugby Union star Grant Fox, has produced a couple of impressive tournaments this year and appears to be edging closer to his first European Tour victory.

Fox (61/1 Outright) finished 12th at the Trophee Hassan II last week, with some consistent scoring – carding rounds of 72-71-71-71 to finish five shots off the winner.

The 31-year-old (23/4 Top 10 Finish) also has a recent top-five finish under his belt, with a tied-third at the Maybank Championship in February when he carded four sub-70 rounds.
