Saturday’s Challenge Cup final should be a thrilling contest between two contrasting sides in Warrington Wolves and Catalans Dragons.
Warrington -6.5 handicap FT @ 4/5
For most, if not all neutrals, the heart will be calling out for Catalans to secure their first piece of major silverware, especially after sealing what was a dominant victory over Super League frontrunners St Helens in the semi-finals.
However, this is a formidable Warrington side that are looking to win the Challenge Cup for the fourth time in the last decade.
Previous results also suggest the Wolves will prove to just have that little bit of knowhow to get the job done in the final.
The last meeting between the two teams saw Warrington win 56-6 on August 10, while earlier this season – in Perpignan where the Dragons are traditionally strong – the Wolves secured a 26-0 victory.
Yes the thrill of the final will give Catalans a lift on their big day out but it might not be enough to narrow the gap on Warrington.
Josh Charnley first tryscorer @ 13/2
Former Wigan Warriors star Charnley has been a revelation at the Halliwell Jones Stadium this season following his return to the 13-man form of the game.
The talented winger failed to settle with Sale Sharks in rugby union and now the try machine is back to doing what he does best in rugby league.
Charnley is been prolific of late and don’t be surprised to see the flyer go over in the corner for the opening try of the game.
