Mane can make his mark against PSG
Liverpool entertain Paris Saint-Germain in arguably the standout fixture in the first round of Champions League fixtures this evening and I’m backing Sadio Mane to grab a goal.
Sadio Mane anytime goalscorer @ 8/5
The Reds backed up their Premier League title credentials with a win at Tottenham on Saturday and should head into this European encounter in confident mood.
A home win appeals at 21/20 but for better value the scorer markets look good and Mane is a strong candidate at 8/5.
The Senegal international managed 10 goals in 13 Champions League games last season – including a goal in the final defeat – and has started this year well, with four league goals in five games.
Mane is 6/1 to score first, but I’m going to play it safe and stick with a goal at anytime from the forward.
Borussia Dortmund to win and both teams to score @ 19/10
BVB head to Club Brugge in Group A and the Bundesliga club should have too much quality for their Belgian hosts.
Dortmund look good going forward and have seven goals in three league games so far this season, despite drawing a blank in a goalless draw with Hannover, but are still suspect in defence.
Brugge will feel they have a chance to emerge from the group having also been drawn with Atletico Madrid and Monaco, and they should provide a test for Dortmund so may be able to grab a goal – but the visitors can still claim the victory.
