Real Madrid begin their Champions League defence on Wednesday evening with a mouth-watering clash against Italian hopefuls Roma.
Los Blancos have embarked on a new era following the exits of star man Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Zinedine Zidane.
Despite the upheaval, they are among the favourites for the European title at 8/1 and should be able to kick off with a win over Roma.
The Serie A outfit reached the last four last year but their away form in the competition is poor, with four consecutive losses on their travels, and Real to win without conceding looks good value in this match up.
No issues for Manchester duo
Manchester City, the 9/2 favourites to win the Champions League, open their account with a home game against France’s Lyon and should have too much quality for the visitors.
Manchester United have a slightly tougher assignment as they head to Switzerland to face Young Boys. The Old Trafford side claimed a morale-boosting 2-1 win at Watford over the weekend though and are 5/6 to take all three points on Wednesday.
Shakhtar Donetsk to win and both teams to score @ 21/10
In one of the two early kick offs Ukrainian outfit Shakhtar entertain Bundesliga club Hoffenheim and a home win with both teams to score stands out in this match-up.
Shakhtar have an excellent record at home in Europe with six wins in their last seven games, and their only loss came to Real Madrid during that time.
Their four most recent wins have seen both teams score and Hoffenheim are yet to draw a blank this term, so a home win with goals could well be the way to go in this showdown.
