Benfica head to AEK Athens in the Champions League this evening and the Portuguese outfit can claim a crucial European victory.
Benfica to win @ 23/20
Benfica went down 2-0 at home to Bayern Munich in their Group E opener and AEK were bested 3-0 at Ajax, so both of these teams need a victory to get their hopes of reaching the knockout stages on track.
The Lisbon club have been in good form – aside from the loss to Bayern – and remain unbeaten domestically, while they managed a draw at Fenerbahce and a win over another Greek side in PAOK Salonika on their travels in Champions League qualifying.
AEK have lost two of their last five although at home they have been solid and have won three of their last four.
However, the Athens outfit struggled past Celtic and were held by Hungarian outfit MOL Vidi at the Olympic Stadium in qualifying so Benfica may have a bit too much quality for the Greek club.
Swansea to win @ 14/5
My second pick comes from the Championship and at a big price Swansea can raid Wigan.
The two sides are level on 16 points and the Latics are unbeaten at home this term, but Swansea have picked up some big results on their travels and look excellent value.
The Swans held Middlesbrough to a 0-0 draw in their last road trip and claimed a win at promotion hopefuls Sheffield United earlier in the campaign.
All of Wigan’s home wins have been against sides currently below them in the table and Swansea could be the first team to leave the DW Stadium with all three points this season.
