Marco Cecchinato has been one of the breakthrough stars on the ATP Tour this year and can overcome France’s Adrian Mannarino in the indoor event in Moscow this evening.
Cecchinato to win @ 23/20
At 26-years-old Cecchinato is a late bloomer in tennis terms having spent the early part of his career struggling to qualify for major events.
Cecchinato had only qualified for four Grand Slam events in six years as a professional prior to his run through to the semi-finals of the French Open earlier this year, where he downed Novak Djokovic on his way to the last four.
The Italian, who is currently a career-high world number 19, had hit a rough patch in form but looked strong in his last tournament – as he downed Hyeon Chung and Gilles Simon before falling to Djokovic in the Shanghai Masters.
Mannarino ended a six-match losing sequence with his opening win in Moscow but looked far from convincing as he edged out home hopeful Evgeny Karlovskiy, ranked outside the top 200 by the ATP, in three sets.
Cecchinato is the man in-form and at 23/20 looks excellent value to come out on top today.
Milwaukee Bucks -2.5 @ 10/11
Milwaukee Bucks may well be the surprise package in the NBA’s Eastern Conference this season and open the new campaign overnight at Charlotte Hornets.
The Bucks thrashed Minnesota Timberwolves 143-121 in their last preseason game and lost just once in their preparations in overtime to Oklahoma City Thunder.
Charlotte had a poor home record last season with 21-20 and this slick Bucks team should be able to beat a -2.5 handicap in this match-up.
