BVB can lay down a marker in Madrid

Borussia Dortmund made a real statement with a 4-0 home win over Atletico Madrid in their last Champions League outing and can back it up with victory in the Spanish capital today.

Borussia Dortmund to win @ 16/5

BVB head to the Wanda Metropolitano in great form after eight wins and two draws in their last 10 games.

A win for Dortmund would all but guarantee their progress to the knockout stages as Group A winners and it is a chance they can take at a big price against a faltering Atleti side.

Los Colchoneros warmed up for this European clash with a 1-1 draw at Leganes and they have picked up just two wins in their last five games in all competitions.

Atleti may also be without Diego Godin and Diego Costa so BVB look excellent value to claim a huge win in Madrid.

An away win and both teams to score at 21/4 is an option if you are inclined to push this one a bit further, but the standard price of an away win looks big enough to me here without adding further complications.

Barcelona to win @ 11/10

Lionel Messi has travelled to Inter Milan with Barcelona although it would still be a big surprise if he plays.

Barca have impressed in his absence – beating the Nerazzurri 2-0 before thrashing Real Madrid 5-1 and, like BVB, can essentially secure top spot in Group B with a win in Milan.

The Catalan giants were thoroughly dominant in the first meeting and although this may be a little more testing, their greater quality should still come through and they can claim a win.
