After making a poor start to the season, Birmingham City are in a great run of form and Garry Monk’s side can add to Aston Villa’s problems by winning Sunday’s derby clash.
This is Villa’s third campaign in the Championship following relegation and they are showing few signs of being good enough to return to the top-flight.
They are 11th, just one place above the Blues who have taken 19 points from their last 10 matches.
Birmingham are the draw specialists in the division with nine but can go one better by inflicting a damaging home defeat on Dean Smith’s side. It looks set to be a tight and low-scoring affair so odds of 23/10 on there being under 1.5 goals in the encounter should be taken up.
Free-scoring West Brom can improve their chances of making an immediate return to the Premier League by beating dismal Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
The decision to part company with Mick McCarthy looks more surprising with every passing week and Town have shown little sign of improvement since Paul Lambert replaced Paul Hurst four weeks ago.
They have won only one of their 17 matches while the Baggies’ goal tally of 37 is eight more than any other Championship team.
Albion start the match in fifth spot but should be able to ease to victory, with Darren Moore’s side 41/20 to score in both halves.
Sheffield United’s promotion push has stalled of late and they have won just one of their last five Championship matches.
However, they can get back on track on Saturday by winning the South Yorkshire derby at Rotherham United, who are 11/10 to be relegated this season.
The Millers have only managed to score 14 goals in their first 17 fixtures and will be happy to take a draw from the game.
However, Chris Wilder’s side are good enough to break down packed defences and can edge to a narrow 1-0 victory at the New York Stadium at 25/4.
