Spurs to sweep inconsistent Everton aside

Mauricio Pochettino can enhance his reputation by guiding his Tottenham side to victory against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are both thought to be keen to lure the Argentinian away from Spurs next summer and the 46-year-old’s stock has never been higher.

Spurs win and both to score @ 51/20

Pochettino has guided Spurs to three top-three finishes in a row and this season, despite being criticised for a lack of signings last summer and the ongoing new stadium issues, his team have won 13 of their first 17 Premier League matches.

They reached the semi-finals of the League Cup by beating Arsenal 2-0 in midweek and have sealed their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Spurs also have an excellent recent record at Goodison Park where they have not lost for almost six years while they are unbeaten in their last 11 matches against Everton.

Marco Silva’s side have been very inconsistent this term, failing to win any of their last four games having won five of their previous seven encounters.

Spurs to win in both halves @ 23/4

They have not played any of the leading teams at home yet but have contrived to lose to West Ham at Goodison Park and been held to draws by Huddersfield, Newcastle and Watford.

Last season Spurs completed the double over Everton, winning 3-0 on Merseyside and 4-0 at Wembley and, while it may not be so emphatic this weekend, Pochettino’s team can start their festive programme off in style.

Harry Kane scored twice in the 4-0 win while Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen were also on target and the South Korean, who netted against the Gunners on Wednesday, is 6/1 to score the first goal at Everton.
