Not many teams in England have experienced the turnaround Queens Park Rangers have enjoyed and Steve McClaren’s side will fancy their chances when they face Leeds United in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The R’s started their season in horrendous fashion, losing their first four games in the Championship, including a 7-1 defeat at the hands of West Brom.
However, McClaren deserves great credit for turning the ship around and now QPR are on a five-game unbeaten run, which has included three victories on the spin.
Funnily enough, their last defeat came at the hands of the Championship frontrunners Leeds at Elland Road on December 8.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa decided to name his line-up on Friday, with a host of youth players thrown into the XI.
The Whites have bigger fish to fry in their bid to make a return to the Premier League this season and the R’s look like great value to get the win on home soil, especially considering their current form.
Doncaster Rovers have a great opportunity to spring what on paper would look like a surprise against Preston on Sunday.
The League One side are in a good place at the moment, suffering just one defeat in their last 11 games in all competitions.
Preston have not had much luck in the FA Cup in recent years and have managed just one victory in the competition, against Wycombe Wanderers, in the last four seasons.
Add to that their miserable four-game winless run in the Championship and it looks primed for Rovers to get the win across the Pennines.
