Championship promotion contenders Derby County come up against Southampton in the FA Cup this afternoon and I’m expecting a win for the Premier League strugglers in this cup clash.

Southampton to win @ 8/5

Both sides may view the cup as a bit of a distraction this season given their respective league positions and the two managers could opt to tinker with their sides.

Southampton started well under new boss Ralph Hasenhuttl but are now winless in three. That run started with a disappointing home defeat against West Ham but they did manage a point at Chelsea last time out.

Derby have just one win in their last five home games and appear to have hit a bit of a rough patch in form, although they have been drawing games rather than losing them.

The FA Cup always throws up a few upsets but Saints can avoid being on the wrong end of one at Pride Park. They may be battling the drop in the Premier League but have improved under Hasenhuttl and can see off a Derby outfit who will view their promotion push as the priority.

Golden State Warriors -7.5 @ 10/11

Golden State went down in overtime against Houston Rockets last time out and the Warriors can respond with a convincing win in Sacramento overnight.

GSW have lost three of their last five games but all of those defeats have come at home. On the road the defending champions have won five of their last six games and only one of those wins has been by less than 10 points.

The Kings are involved in the fight for a playoff spot but have hit a mini slump with four defeats in their last five, and Golden State should be able to beat a -7.5 handicap in the point spread in this one.
