Every chance of an English double in Europe this season

Manchester United are unbeaten in their eleven matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Do you see that run continuing against PSG?

When the draw was made, most United fans were fearing the worst. But now, the way they are playing under Solskjaer I think they’ve got every chance of going through. All their attacking players are firing and you really wouldn’t bet against any of Rashford, Martial or Lingard getting on the scoresheet.

PSG are missing Neymar and Cavani and they might come to Old Trafford looking for a draw to take back to Paris. I don’t think they’ll get it though and I think United might even keep a clean sheet in the process.

Spurs face Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on Wednesday but they’ll still be without Kane and Alli. How much will that harm their chances?

It’s a real shame for Spurs not having those two fit, especially Kane. This looks a cracking tie on paper but you worry without Kane for this first leg, that Dortmund might get a result at Wembley and then sneak through over the two legs.

A lot will depend on whether Son can continue his scoring form and I think this first game will finish in a score draw.

In the Europa League, Arsenal and Chelsea are both away in their first legs. How do you expect them to get on?

I fancy both of them to win on Thursday. These are the sort of matches they should be winning and Emery and Sarri will be looking to put these ties to bed to take the pressure off the home games.

I expect Arsenal to have too much for BATE and as for Chelsea, well it’s all about putting in a display after that nightmare at Manchester City.

And what about both teams chances of going all the way and winning the Europa League?

Right now Chelsea are the favourites with the bookies at 4/1 and Arsenal are second in the running at 6/1. Then there’s a group of strong European teams like Napoli, Sevilla and Inter Milan who you’d expect to go a long way in the competition too. But I have a feeling one of the two English teams will win it.

And I backed Manchester City to win the Champions League at the start of the season and I’m not going to change my thinking now. So yeah, I think it could be an English double in Europe this season!
