Affectionately nicknamed ‘The Romford Pele’, Ray is one of football’s great characters. In a career which saw him make nearly 500 senior appearances, he won numerous honours including three Premier Leagues and three FA Cups, as well as representing his country 10 times. Under-performing Man Utd have been the least impressive this season

With the Premier League taking a break this weekend, now seems a good time to assess the start of the campaign. Who’s impressed you most so far?  Bournemouth to finish in the Top 10 – 5/6 Wolves to finish in the Top 10 – 1/5 Bournemouth are the first team that come to mind. I […]

City to be crowned European champions

Champions League review for this week – any dark horses emerging? Man City to win the Champions League – 9/2 Obviously Man City got that late winner against Hoffenheim – David Silva was excellent. It was a great game to watch but Hoffenheim came unstuck right at the end – I think they were playing […]

West Ham will fancy themselves against Man United

West Ham vs. Man United – West Ham vs. Man United, Draw and BTTS – 33/1 Another game I’m really looking forward to this weekend. West Ham have just turned the corner in the last week or so, getting that win at Everton and the draw with Chelsea. And they’ll fancy it against a very inconsistent […]

Arsenal’s form to continue with a straightforward win vs Everton

Arsenal vs. Everton – Arsenal to win to nil – 37/20 Unai Emery made lots of changes to his side in the Europa League on Thursday but it was still a pretty strong eleven and importantly, they kept the momentum going after the two away wins in the Premier League. Everton are a funny side. Nobody […]

Emery will take the Europa League seriously this season

Your old side Arsenal travel to Newcastle on Saturday, what are you expecting from that one? Its so important Arsenal get a good result up there. Obviously last time out at Cardiff they made hard work of it, but they came away with the three points. Their away record hasn’t been great, but if they […]

Southgate’s focus on youth is exciting for English football

England play Spain in an international friendly on Saturday night. Was there anyone who didn’t make Southgate’s squad who you thought might have done? With Jamie Vardy retiring I thought Callum Wilson might get a call-up. He’s done so well for Bournemouth. He’s had those horrendous injuries, but he’s come back and he’s always among […]

Cardiff will be tough, but these are the games Arsenal have to win

Arsenal got their first League victory under Unai Emery last weekend, what impressed you most about their display? Well first half, West Ham had some chances which was a little worrying. On another day they could have scored three goals, their finishing wasn’t great. But Arsenal showed a bit of character. And I do believe […]
