Ray Parlour
Affectionately nicknamed ‘The Romford Pele’, Ray is one of football’s great characters. In a career which saw him make nearly 500 senior appearances, he won numerous honours including three Premier Leagues and three FA Cups, as well as representing his country 10 times. Part of Arsenal’s invincibles during a 12 year stay with the Gooners, Ray is now a regular on talkSPORT radio.

Under the Anfield lights, Liverpool will blow Napoli away

Bad news for Arsenal with confirmation of the injury to Rob Holding. How much will that impact Unai Emery and his side? It’s a real blow for the club and obviously for Rob personally. He’s been playing really well of late and I think most Arsenal fans would agree he’s made massive strides. Emery’s been […]

Wealth of attacking talent for the North London derby – there will be goals

This Sunday sees the first North London Derby of the season. What are you expecting from this one? I was very lucky to play in so many of these games and they were really high energy, hostile matches. There’s always a lot resting on a North London Derby but even more so right now. It’s so […]

Norwich epitomise the unpredictable nature of the Championship

There are three points separating the top four in The Championship at the moment. Who’s impressed you most so far this season?  If you ever wanted an example of how unpredictable and exciting the Championship is, look at Norwich right now. I think they won two of their first six matches and manager Daniel Farke […]

Ranieri will receive a positive reaction from Fulham players

We saw the first Premier League managerial change this week with Fulham sacking Slavisa Jokanovic. What do you think of the decision and their choice of replacement? Jokanovic did a wonderful job last year getting Fulham up. But in this day and age, when your team is not performing in the Premier League, you’re always […]

Confident Man United won’t have enough to beat Man City

Your old side Arsenal are looking to make it 9 wins from the last 10 league games when they play Wolves on Sunday. What’s your prediction?  Wolves are going through a tough spell, but they have already shown enough in the early part of the season to tell me they’ll have no problems. I think […]

With City’s squad depth, it is hard to look past them winning the Carabao Cup

The draw for the Carabao Cup Quarter Finals has given us a North London Derby. What’s your early prediction for that one?  Yeah what a cracking draw that is. I think everyone was hoping for a big clash and Arsenal and Spurs supporters will be really looking forward to that one. Ultimately I think it’s […]

Arsenal to get through Lisbon challenge unscathed

Arsenal Europa League prediction  They’re [Arsenal] playing alright. I’m not getting too carried away. We had a good second half against Leicester but they were all over us in the first half. They’re winning the games they should win, but there’s a long way to go. It’s positive – everyone is going in the right […]

Hazard will be the difference against Man United

Chelsea vs. Man United  These games are always a different class for me. You’ve got the added spice of Jose Mourinho going back to Chelsea and Stamford Bridge. You’ve got Chelsea going strong and then you’ve got United’s form which is still very much up and down. It’ll be interesting to see if United show […]

Under-performing Man Utd have been the least impressive this season

With the Premier League taking a break this weekend, now seems a good time to assess the start of the campaign. Who’s impressed you most so far?  Bournemouth to finish in the Top 10 – 5/6 Wolves to finish in the Top 10 – 1/5 Bournemouth are the first team that come to mind. I […]

City to be crowned European champions

Champions League review for this week – any dark horses emerging? Man City to win the Champions League – 9/2 Obviously Man City got that late winner against Hoffenheim – David Silva was excellent. It was a great game to watch but Hoffenheim came unstuck right at the end – I think they were playing […]
