Aston Villa F.C. vs. Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. – Sat, 21st November

Premier League 2020-21 Match Prediction

Aston Villa F.C. is set to play hosts to Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. at Villa Park in Birmingham on Saturday 21st November in their next English Premier League battle. This clash will witness two sides that have experienced contrasting starts in the League battle out for valuable points.

The international break may have come at a blessed time for Brighton, giving Potter’s squad a chance to regroup after five successive defeats. Even accounting for back-to-back losses to Leeds and Southampton, Villa has been admirable this season and will be looking to pick up from where they left off. Hence, on account of the form and Brighton’s losing streak at Villa Park, we can only see this game ending one way.

Aston Villa FC will win this game.

Team Preview

Aston Villa comes into this match on the back of a beautiful 3-0 win over Arsenal a few days ago. An own goal from Bukayo Saka and a clamp from in-form striker Watkins assured the win for Dean Smith’s Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium. On the other hand, Brighton & Hove Albion drew against Burnley FC nearly two weeks ago despite taking 19 shots and boasting more possession.

Aston Villa holds a clear advantage in the six head-to-head games between the two sides. They have won three games and drew the other three games being the dominators. The last time they met this January, the match resulted in a draw with one goal hit by each team.

Manager Dean Smith will be unable to call upon England international goalkeeper Tom Heaton and Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes, who are both injured. Even the likes of defender Kortney Hause and England international goalkeeper Tom Heaton are doubts for this game.

Meanwhile, Brighton & Hove Albion will be without Colombia international Jose Izquierdo and Romanian striker Florin Andone, as both are nursing injuries. There are doubts about winger Leandro Trossard, young attacker Aaron Connolly, goalkeeper Christian Walton, and defender Solly March.

Aston Villa has been one of the best teams in the Premier League this season so far. Skipper Jack Grealish has been one of the star players in the top-flight, and new signing Ollie Watkins has proved to be a worthy acquisition from the Championship.

Brighton, on the other hand, is statistically one of the finest teams in the league. However, their results are of a different story. Despite being a talented camp with a good manager at the command, the Seagulls have struggled. The likes of Lewis Dunk and Neal Maupay will have to step up and fire.

Despite their lower place in the points table, Brighton FC has not been goal-shy, scoring 11 goals so far this Championship. On the other hand, Aston Villa has also been deadly in front of goal, with only Chelsea and Tottenham scoring more than them, while they also enjoy a good record against Brighton.

Brighton & Hove Albion have a chance given their recent performances, but Aston Villa might edge past them.
