Australia Women vs India Women Team Previews

Australia Women (Match Odds – 1.50)

Given how Australia Women have performed over the last month, it is safe to say that they have not been at their best. To be fair to the Indians, the series, which was expected to be one-sided, has turned out to be a roller-coaster ride for the hosts. They are still ahead on this tour and will want to keep it that way, but it will be difficult.

Unlike India, the Australians are more likely to field a familiar unit, i.e. a more settled playing eleven. In the absence of Rachel Haynes, Beth Mooney will most likely start Alyssa Healy. Meg Lanning and Elysse Perry, both well-known for their exploits in this format, will follow them.

Australia Women are known for their impeccable balance, which stems from the presence of versatile all-rounders. Apart from Elysse Perry, who regained her form in the test match, they have Ash Gardner, Tahlia McGrath, and Nicola Carey, all of whom are capable batswomen. Besides, Sophie Molineux is set to come in at number ten, and she is a capable batsman in that position.

Overall, Australian women have a more balanced side on paper, but they are struggling with their form. They’d need an inspiring performance first, or else everything could go downhill quickly. They do have a well-experienced unit to help them get out of sticky situations, and this is one of them. Australia Women will be difficult to beat if the experienced players step up their game.

Australia Women T20I Squad

Meg Lanning (c), Rachael Haynes, Darcie Brown, Maitlan Brown, Stella Campbell, Nicola Carey, Hannah Darlington, Ashleigh Gardner, Alyssa Healy, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Molineux, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Georgia Redmayne, Molly Strano, Annabel Sutherland, Tayla Vlaeminck, Georgia Wareham

Predicted XI: Meg Lanning (c), Alyssa Healy (wk), Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, Hannah Darlington, Darcie Brown

India Women (Match Odds – 2.60)

India Women will be pumped after a fantastic, if not match-winning, performance in the only test. They will, however, have to shift gears in order to adapt to the shortened version of the game, which will not be easy. They will also make some changes to their starting lineup, and it will be interesting to see what the final lineup looks like and how the changes affect their form.

The most notable absences from India’s T20I squad are Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami. While Mithali Raj has struggled this season and the team may not miss her as much, Jhulan Goswami will be sorely missed. In her absence, the onus will be on Meghna Singh and Pooja Vastrakar, who both performed admirably in the recently concluded test match. In addition, with Harmanpreet Kaur out injured, India’s batting appears inexperienced and overly reliant on Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma.

Sneh Rana is expected to reclaim her place in the T20I team after missing out on the test format due to her heroics in the most recent One Day International. Richa Ghosh will take over for Taniya Bhatia. On paper, India lacks much-needed middle-order firepower. We’ve seen that Yastika Bhatia and Sneh Rana can hit the ball long, but doing so against a well-equipped bowling attack will be difficult.

Overall, India will be brimming with confidence after two outstanding performances in a row, but they must be mindful of their team’s limitations. If the likes of Smriti Mandana and Shafali Verma can get the ball rolling early on, India Women will have a realistic chance of winning this match.

India Women T20I Squad

Mithali Raj (c), Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Punam Raut, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Yastika Bhatia, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami, Meghna Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav, Richa Ghosh, Ekta Bisht

Predicted XI: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), Sneh Rana, Arundhati Reddy, Poonam Yadav, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Pooja Vastrakar

Australia Women vs India Women Toss Prediction

This wicket is known for providing early assistance to bowlers, and in recent games, we have seen sides easily chase down scores at this venue. Both captains will be thinking about this, and the team that wins the toss will most likely choose to bowl first on this wicket.

To Win the Toss – Australia Women – 1.85

To Win the Toss – India Women – 1.85

Pitch and Weather Conditions

Carrara Oval in Queensland helps bowlers with the new ball, but it is a good batting surface overall, and the small size of the ground allows batters to score boundaries. Fast bowlers have done well in the past, but spinners struggle because the surface offers little.

On October 07, we expect clear skies and a pleasant afternoon in Queensland, with a flat surface similar to what we saw in the Test Match. Early in the game, the bowlers would receive some assistance. The team batting first would be content with a score of 150 or higher.

Australia Women vs India Women Match Prediction

This series between Australia Women and India Women has certainly generated a lot of interest. India Women have punched above their weight throughout the tour, and this will be their final – and possibly most difficult – test. Australia Women, on the other hand, have not been at their best and will be hoping to finish the tour on a high note.

Australia Women is the favorites to beat India Women at the odds of 1.50.

  • Team Australia Women have only lost twice in their last ten T20 games and have dominated the majority of them.
  • Australia Women’s batters Beth Mooney, Meg Lanning, and Alyssa Healy have all scored runs this season, adding to the team’s strength.
  • India Women have only won twice in the last seven games, and the team has not performed well in this format.
