Sydney Thunder vs Perth Scorchers Team Previews

Sydney Thunder (Match Odds – 2.25)

In the previous match, the Sydney Thunder flexed some muscles against the Sydney Sixers. It eventually lost, but it was encouraging to see all of the batsmen play freely. There were nine sixes hit in that inning, and almost all of the batters got off to a good start. Perhaps most importantly, Alex Hales had a few good hits, and if he can use them to put together a solid inning, Sydney Thunder has a chance to win.

We actually like the Sydney Thunder’s batting order. Hales adds up power at the top, Billings is reliable in the middle, Ross is creative, and Sams can hit a long ball. You also have the impressive Jason Sangha and Ben Cutting, who add a lot of depth to this batting order. This is unquestionably a batting lineup capable of defeating the Perth Scorchers.

We’d be willing to back Jason Sangha in the Top Batsman Sydney Thunder betting market.

With the addition of Saqib Mahmood to the bowling attack, the Sydney Thunder are now quite dangerous with the ball. To round out the lineup, they have Daniel Sams, Tanveer Sangha, Ben Cutting, Chris Green, and Nathan McAndrew.

Sydney Thunder Squad

Matthew Gilkes, Alex Hales, Jason Sangha, Sam Billings (wk), Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, Ben Cutting, Nathan McAndrew, Chris Green (c), Saqib Mahmood, Tanveer Sangha, Jonathan Cook, Oliver Davies, Brendan Doggett, Baxter Holt, Gurinder Sandhu, Chris Tremain, Sam Whiteman

Predicted XI: Alex Hales, Matthew Gilkes, Jason Sangha, Sam Billings (wk), Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, Ben Cutting, Nathan McAndrew, Chris Green (c), Saqib Mahmood, Tanveer Sangha

Perth Scorchers (Match Odds – 1.65)

Mitchell Marsh has been in outstanding form for the Perth Scorchers. He has already scored a century in the BBL 2021-22 edition and could have easily scored another. He’s hitting the ball very cleanly, and we’ve had a lot of luck betting on him to hit a six in every match so far. However, as strong as the Perth Scorchers are, no team can win every game, and after six wins in a row, you have to start looking for the upset.

Josh Inglis and Cameron Bancroft have not been the most dependable opening pair, and we are always concerned about Colin Munro’s consistency. This means that if Mitchell Marsh leaves early, the Perth Scorchers could be in trouble. The lineup is very strong, but it is not without flaws by any means.

Andrew Tye, Ashton Agar, and Tymal Mills have been the standout bowlers this season. Tymal Mills could bet on in the Top Bowler Perth Scorchers betting market. He has been taking wickets on a regular basis and clearly has the tools to succeed in Australian conditions.

The Perth Scorchers have no real weaknesses at the moment, but we believe the market is overvaluing them and that the odds on them to win are not representative of what is happening on the field.

Perth Scorchers Squad

Cameron Bancroft, Josh Inglis (wk), Mitchell Marsh, Colin Munro, Ashton Turner (c), Laurie Evans, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Hatzoglou, Tymal Mills, Matthew Kelly, Nick Hobson, David Moody, Lance Morris

Predicted XI: Cameron Bancroft, Josh Inglis (wk), Mitchell Marsh, Colin Munro, Ashton Turner (c), Laurie Evans, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Peter Hatzoglou, Tymal Mills

Sydney Thunder vs Perth Scorchers Match Prediction

Sydney Thunder has a well-balanced attack but has struggled to maintain consistency and momentum in the league so far. They must perform at their peak in order to outperform the Perth Scorchers. The Scorchers are behaving like a turbocharged jet on auto-pilot, with both the batting and bowling departments operating at full capacity. Thunder will try to make their journey difficult in this match, but we expect Perth Scorchers to win and extend their winning streak this season.

Perth Scorchers is the favourite to beat Sydney Thunder at the odds of 1.65.

  • Perth Scorchers have 21 points from six games, with six victories.
  • Sydney Thunder is third in the points table with 10 points from 5 games.
  • The Sydney Thunder won their only game at this venue this season.
