Premier League 2020-21
Burnley F.C. vs. Crystal Palace F.C – Mon, 23rd November
Premier League 2020-21 Match Prediction
Monday’s Premier League game will witness a resurgent Crystal Palace FC side take on Burnley FC in a crucial fixture at the Turf Moor. Crystal Palace has exceeded expectations in this league and has a point to prove in this match. Palace will be looking to take advantage of an underperforming Burnley side, who desperately need a win and continue their positive start to the season.
The Eagles have started much better so far and are still struggling for consistency, but it works when they click. Perhaps Sean Dyche and his men will have to wait that little bit longer before they are to register their first win of the season.
Crystal Palace F.C. will win this game.
Crystal Palace does not have a particularly explicit record against Burnley and has won just 13 games out of a total of 49 matches played between the two teams. On the other hand, Burnley has managed 19 victories against Crystal Palace but will have to play out of their skins to add to their tally this weekend.
Crystal Palace is currently in the eighth position in the Premier League points table and has been splendid in the final third so far this league. The away side clobbered Leeds United by an enormous 4-1 margin before the international break and will want to register yet another win this weekend.
Crystal Palace has been boosted by the return to fitness of defenders James Tomkins (thigh), Joel Ward (groin), and Tyrick Mitchell (knock). Midfielder Ebere was withdrawn from England’s U21 business as a precaution and is a doubt. Luka Milivojevic, who serves the second game of a three-match suspension, is awaiting the result of a subsequent coronavirus test after testing positive on Monday.
Crystal Palace has been in the exuberant form under the evergreen manager Roy Hodgson, recently thrashing Leeds 4-1 to consolidate their standing in the top half of the table, with four wins from their opening eight games.
On the other hand, the Clarets currently find themselves languishing in the bottom three of the table with just two points to find from their first seven games, including a goalless statement on their travels just before the international break, drawing 0-0 at Brighton. Struggling now has abundant work to do to move out of the relegation zone. The home side is yet to win a single game in the Premier League this season and needs to take it up a mark in the coming weeks.
Burnley profited from the reappearance of Ben Mee against Brighton and will be further enhanced by the availability of Dale Stephens and Phil Bardsley. Erik Pieters might also make a return but will have to wait for his fitness test outcomes. Jack Cork is still absent, however, and has been ruled out of this game.
Burnley have failed to influence in the Premier League this season and cannot offer to drop points in this game. The Clarets have the poorest scoring record in the English top-flight and need to determine their woes in the final third to stand a chance in this game.
