UEFA Champions League 2020-21

FC Bayern Munich vs. FC Red Bull Salzburg – Thu, 26th November

UEFA Champions League 2020-21 Match Prediction:

Bayern Munich will welcome Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday if they win it guarantees them passage through to the knockout stages of the competition. They also won the recent match between the two sides 6-2 in Austria.

Hansi Flick’s side would get a major boost if they could beat Salzburg and qualify for the last 16 with two matches to spare as they have suffered from injuries recently and the option to rest players would greatly benefit them. They look in a formidable form so far this season, being at the top of the Bundesliga after winning all eight games and also have won all three games in their Group A in Champions League.

Salzburg hasn’t had the best season so far as they have performed very disappointingly and only have one point in their bag in Group A. Jesse Marsch’s side have conceded 11 goals in three games, they will surely have a really hard time containing Bayern’s attack. In all reality, Marsch would need all of his key players firing all cylinders to have a positive result against Bayern if they want to remain in the competition.

We predict that Bayern Munich would win 4-1 against Red Bull Salzburg, as Bayern possess too much quality in and around both boxes which will prevent Salzburg in getting the result they wish to be a part of the competition still.

FC Bayern Munich will win this game.

Team Preview:

Bayern hasn’t had Corentin Tolisso, Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka in midfield since the start, which affected their game against Werder Bremen on Saturday which led to 1-1 home draw for them. But they still have players like Muller, Sane, Coman and Lewandowski who are all fit and firing.

Kimmich would not be able to perform due to sustaining meniscus damage, and Alphonso Davies would also be out due to a torn ankle ligament. Lucas Hernandez also may not be risked against Salzburg due to suffering bruises to his pelvic region. It won’t be a surprise if even Tolisso isn’t in the squad due to some minor injuries he sustained while playing for France.

Red Bull Salzburg’s Zlatko Junuzovic and Masaya Okugawa are also doubtful to feature against Bayern as they played no part in the defeat to Sturm Graz. Their star striker, Patson Daka is also definitely out due to a thigh injury and so would Antoine Bernede be due to his shin injury. Dominik Szoboszlai has been extraordinary this season and has scored against both Lokomotiv Moscow and Atletico.

Bayern Munich’s possible starting lineup: Neuer, Lewandowski, Pavardd, Gnabry, Sulee, Muller, Alaba, Sarr, Martinez, Goretzka and Sane

Red Bull Salzburg’s possible starting lineup: Stankovic, Koita, Nissenn, Szoboszlai, Ramalho, Berisha, Wober, Seiwald, Ulmer, Mwepu and Kamara

We predict that Bayern Munich would win 4-1 against Red Bull Salzburg, as RB Salzburg are missing key attacking players and are also struggling to find the right balance defensively.
