India vs. Australia 2020

1st ODI – Fri, 27th November

Ind vs. Aus Match Prediction

India kicks off their Australia tour with a three-match ODI series against Aussies, the first of which takes place on Friday in Sydney. This series will begin on November 27th, overlapping with the beginning of the South Africa-England series and New Zealand-West Indies series.

The first One Day International will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Both teams are relatively full-strength, with Rohit Sharma being the only big-name Player not to feature. Skipper Virat Kohli will lead the Indian squad while Aaron Finch will continue to lead the home team, Australia.

The last time both these teams encountered was in a three-match ODI series in January in India, which the Men in Blue settled 2-1. With one of the biggest enmities in world cricket set to take place, it’ll be an exhilarating watch for all cricketing enthusiasts.

The players of Indian troop seem more poised with their profound batting and bowling line up. Hence, despite home conditions favouring Australia, we predict India will win the first game on 27th.

India will win this game.

Team Preview

Australia last played in an international game in the limited-overs series alongside England in September, ahead of the start of the IPL. India, in the meantime, was last seen in feat in the tour of New Zealand previously this year.

The Aussies have an appealing settled lineup in the ODI set-up. David Warner and Aaron Finch with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne form a solid top order. All-rounders Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis should form the team’s middle-order, with the former having a point to prove after a feeble IPL. Their regular pace bowling trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood should be in the playing squad.

With Rohit Sharma not in the limited-overs roster, Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal are choices to open the batting together for India. Skipper Virat Kohli, KL Rahul would form a much-enhanced middle-order for the side. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja in the likes of all-rounders will strengthen the lineup. Wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are inevitabilities to feature in the game.

While Australia-India meetings are usually one of the most erratic fixtures in international cricket, the hosts will begin the series as favourites. Despite India’s new-look top order, it’s likely to be a thrilling encounter.

The venue, Pitch Report, and Toss Prediction:

The pitch at SCG is normally pleasant to both the batsmen and the bowlers. Pacers are likely to have more influence than the spinners, but there will be certain spin on offer.

Batters will take some time to settle down before playing their rounds. Our Match Prediction forecasts that teams will opt to the ball first on winning the toss. Therefore, the toss will be critical.

Key Players to watch:

  • All-rounder Hardik Pandya, strike bowler Jasprit Bumrah, and skipper Virat Kohli of India will be key players to watch.
  • Pacer Mitchell Stark, David Warner and veteran batsman Steven Smithof Australia will be key Player to watch.
