IPL 2021 – Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals – 46th Match Prediction
The fight for the final IPL 2021 playoff berth is heating up, and it may be determined by razor-thin margins in the end. The Mumbai Indians are now barely outside the top four and will be trying to mount another comeback, as we have seen them do in the past. In their next encounter, they will face the Delhi Capitals in Sharjah.
Sharjah has been fairly beneficial for us in terms of cricket betting since the betting markets have not taken the present conditions into consideration. The Delhi Capitals were defeated by KKR in their previous encounter in Sharjah on a difficult batting surface.
It will be fascinating to see whether the curator can make any changes to the surface, or if the batsmen will continue to struggle. We believe there will be a number of betting possibilities to take advantage of once again. The match will take place on October 2, 2021, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals Team Previews
Mumbai Indians (Match Odds – 1.80)
For their last bout, Mumbai Indians took the daring but ultimately smart choice to rest Ishan Kishan and bring back Saurabh Tiwari. In addition, Adam Milne was replaced by Nathan Coulter-Nile. MI, as a team, likes not to make too many changes; therefore we expect the same mix to remain.
Batting continued to be an issue as the squad failed to chase down 135. Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard both scored runs, but Jasprit Bumrah continued to bowl brilliantly.
Suryakumar Yadav’s form is under examination, but we’ve seen him come back from disappointing performances in the past with a bang. MI’s natural batting ability is outstanding, but they face a difficult test against the Delhi Capitals.
MI’s bowling is quite good, and they should be able to apply pressure on a Delhi team that is dealing with some injury issues. It also has the power-hitters to exploit Sharjah’s narrow boundaries if the pitch is a little better for this match.
Mumbai Indians Squad
Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Aditya Tare, Anmolpreet Singh, Chris Lynn, Saurabh Tiwary, Anukul Roy, Arjun Tendulkar, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Neesham, Jayant Yadav, Kieron Pollard, Marco Jansen, Yudhvir Singh, Adam Milne, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohsin Khan, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Piyush Chawla, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult
Predicted XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult
Delhi Capitals (Match Odds – 2.00)
The Delhi Capitals have some difficulties to work out ahead of the IPL playoffs, and we believe the team’s lineup should be reconsidered. They were without Prithvi Shaw in the previous match, and he may be sidelined again for this critical encounter against the Mumbai Indians.
That means Steve Smith will bat at the top, a position he does not appear to be very adept at. His strike rate is insufficient, putting Shikhar Dhawan under strain. Shreyas Iyer and Rishab Pant are two batsmen we believe will have an impact in this game. They are strong against spin and can easily pass the limits.
The Delhi Capitals’ batting depth is extremely limited. Shimron Hetmyer is unpredictable, and Lalit Yadav appears to be batting at least one or two spots higher than he should be. With Ravi Ashwin on the side, fast running between the wickets and huge smashes will be difficult to come by while he is at the crease. They require one additional batsman, but we do not believe they will make that move in this match.
Kagiso Rabada, Antioch Nortje, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Avesh Khan have all been outstanding. The Delhi Capitals’ bowling assault is the team’s true strength.
Delhi Capitals Squad
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Sam Billings, Shimron Hetmyer, Steven Smith, Vishnu Vinod, Axar Patel, Chris Woakes, Lalit Yadav, Marcus Stoinis, Ripal Patel, Tom Curran, Amit Mishra, Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan, Ishant Sharma, Kagiso Rabada, Lukman Meriwala, Manimaran Siddharth, Praveen Dubey, Umesh Yadav, Shams Mulani, Aniruddha Joshi
Predicted XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Steven Smith, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Shimron Hetmyer/Marcus Stoinis, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan
Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals Toss Prediction
The team that wins the toss will want to bat first. So far, the side that has chased has won two of the three matches. This might be because teams batting first are aiming too high and getting bowled over as a result.
To Win the Toss – Mumbai Indians – 1.85
To Win the Toss – Delhi Capitals – 1.85
Pitch and Weather Conditions
Sharjah’s conditions have been hit and dry, making it ideal for bowlers. The surface has lost its shine, and the ball has been hesitant to get on to the bat. As a result, overall scores, sixes, and even boundaries struck have dropped dramatically. We were able to take advantage of this in a number of betting markets in the last match and propose doing so again for this one.
At the present, it looks that a score of 150-160 is considered quite excellent in Sharjah.
Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals Match Prediction
The game seems to be between two batting lineups that are struggling and two very powerful bowling assaults. In this encounter, we believe the Mumbai Indians have a small lead against the Delhi Capitals. It has greater batting power, and while the circumstances are not going to be simple, it is more likely to be able to take advantage of the narrow boundaries.
We also believe that the Delhi Capitals are now playing with an unbalanced team that is overly reliant on Shikhar Dhawan.
Mumbai Indians is the favorites to beat Delhi Capitals at the odds of 1.80.
- DC has 16 points from 11 games, including three wins in four games in the second leg.
- MI has 10 points from 11 games, with only one win in its four second-leg matches.
- In IPL history, MI has a 16-13 win-loss record against DC.
