The Delhi Capitals have already qualified for the top two and will have two chances to reach the IPL 2021 Final. The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s previous match loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad effectively ended their chances of qualifying for the top two.
This is a difficult match to predict in terms of betting. Both teams could see a lot of changes as they try to rest some of their players before the playoffs. This raises the level of uncertainty and variability in the possible outcomes.
The match will take place on October 8, 2021, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals Team Previews
As we predicted in our previous RCB match prediction, the usual suspects stepped up in the run-chase – Padikkal, Maxwell, and a valiant effort from AB de Villiers. Virat Kohli’s poor form is a source of concern not only for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, but also for India in the context of the T20 World Cup. Daniel Christian might not be the best choice at number three. If the Challengers had been playing on batting-friendly pitches like those in Bengaluru and Mumbai, this strategy would have worked. However, because of the slowness of the UAE tracks, Srikar Bharat or Rajat Patidar are better suited to this position.
Tim David is another key player who can hit the long ball and has done so very well in the UAE during the PSL. Though Christian can provide Kohli with a couple of overs and a wicket or two on his best day, RCB’s bowling effort isn’t lacking and they have plenty of options. Dan Christian should definitely make way for Tim David in the Bangalore batting order to add depth and strength. Devdutt Padikkal is the only upcoming Indian player in this squad, and unlike most successful IPL teams, RCB relies on the batting performances of their overseas players like Maxwell, AB de Villiers, and now Daniel Christian. As they get closer to the playoffs, Kohli must find his groove.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Squad
Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Srikar Bharat (wk), Daniel Christian, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Shahbaz Ahmed, Harshal Patel, George Garton, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dushmantha Chameera, Sachin Baby, Kyle Jamieson, Tim David, Wanindu Hasaranga, Navdeep Saini, Rajat Patidar, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Suyash Prabhudessai, Akash Deep, Pavan Deshpande
Predicted XI: Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Srikar Bharat (wk), Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Daniel Christian, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kyle Jamieson/George Garton, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj
With 20 points from 13 games, the best performing team in recent seasons is comfortably atop the table. When they reached the finals last season, their inexperience was one of the issues for this young team. That shouldn’t be an issue this time because, aside from Dhawan, it’s mostly the young guns in this squad who are leading Delhi Capitals from the front. Rishabh Pant’s form will be scrutinised because he hasn’t been consistent, and given his batting position, he will be expected to stay at the crease long enough to ensure DC is in a comfortable position in the innings.
With the batting lineup that DC has, a belter of a pitch will be ideal. However, with the pitches in the UAE leg being two-paced at times and slowish at others, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, and Steve Smith have emerged as players to watch. These three have the ability to steadily build innings, and the Capitals can aim for a big finish with Rishab Pant and Shimron Hetmyer down the order. Nortje, Rabada, and Avesh Khan form the league’s most difficult and toughest bowling attack. While R Ashwin may not be an appealing spin option, Axar Patel’s left-arm orthodox bowling has the potential to make a significant impact.
Delhi Capitals Squad
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Ripal Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Steven Smith, Umesh Yadav, Ajinkya Rahane, Amit Mishra, Sam Billings, Marcus Stoinis, Tom Curran, Ben Dwarshuis, Lalit Yadav, Kulwant Khejroliya, Vishnu Vinod, Praveen Dubey, Lukman Meriwala
Predicted XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Sam Billings/Ripal Patel, Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan, Anrich Nortje
Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals Toss Prediction
The team that wins the toss will want to bat first. The threat of dew appears to be more concerning to teams than the pitch slowing down, so the captain who wins the toss is likely to chase.
Pitch and Weather Conditions
Batting conditions in Dubai are superior to those in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The chasing team should be considered to have a significant advantage. The team that has chased has won the previous five matches in Dubai.
A score of around 150 appears to be the norm for the venue.
