IPL – Full steam this weekend

26-September: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad-Match Preview

Kolkata Knight Riders

Under the coaching of Brendon McCallum, Kolkata will be a different team this year and Chris Gayle who will join the team later could make an impact. Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have both won equal number of matches in last four matches. Shubham Gill and Dinesh Kartik have been in good batting form for Kolkata Knight Riders and they should continue this form.

In bowling department Sunile Narine and Andre Russel are still going good despite being involved in bans in past. Both have performed well in Caribbean Premier League. Especially Sunile Narine in spin department could be dangerous for opposition batsmen.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad should play Kane Williamson on UAE pitches to bring stability in the team. Rashid Khan looked an ordinary bowler in last match, but he is the trump card and hopefully he will bounce back hard. Khaleel Ahmed could be very handy on slow pitches. Sunrisers should not repeat the mistake by dropping Muhammad Nabi again. Muhammad Nabi and Rashid Khan combination will be a nightmare for the opposition team on spinning track.

27-September: Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab-Match preview

On 27th of September 2020 the Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals will be head to head in Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Sharjah pitch always remained high scoring. The Asian teams in the past always enjoyed playing in Sharjah.

Kings XI Punjab

The Kings XI Punjab team has always struggled in the IPL despite some odd seasons. From the past couple of years, they have been struggling. This year Kings XI Punjab looks like a balanced side on paper, but the real challenge will be to perform on the field and match day.

In the first match K.L Rahul was exceptionally well. In United Arab Emirates conditions K.L Rahul might be successful due to his batting style. If K.L Rahul laid the foundation well in batting Glenn Maxwell can do damage in the later part of the innings. Shaun Marsh is doing well with Australian team and he need to help his team with his all-round abilities.

In the bowling department Chris Jordan, Mujeeb ur Rehman and Mohammad Shami will keep the opposition batsmen in check If they are utilized properly by their captain K.L Rahul. It would be interesting combination if these bowlers will bowl to likes of steven smith etc. Agarwal was lethal in the first match. Hope he keeps consistently going. Nicholas Pooran is a good player but let’s see either he will continue his good form in a competitive tournament like IPL.

The good thing which goes in the favour of Kings XI Punjab is that Kings XI Punjab has won last 3 out of 4 matches. Played between both the teams in last 2 years.

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan have brilliant overseas players.

In Rajasthan’s camp their coach Andrew McDonald has been the centre of attention and how well he will uphold his team the cricket passionate will be looking for. If Ben Stokes joins the team, he will make the opposition team task difficult. However, If Kings XI player work on Ben stokes, he might struggle on short ball. David Miller is a remarkable T20 Batsman who on his day can be match changer. David Miller has also been captaining Kings XI Punjab team which means he knows well the strength and weaknesses of the Kings XI Punjab team. Steven Smith anchored the innings well in the first match. He is been playing cricket in England and if he continuous his form Rajasthan Royals could surely be in a good position comfortably.

If Joss Butler plays, he would done the damage in later part of the innings. However, Steve Smith might bat him up the order depending upon the situation. Sanju Samson is a loyal Rajasthan player since 2013. He should support Steve smith with his power hitting which could help the remaining batsmen later in the innings.

Jofra Archer would create an impact for Rajasthan Royals with his new ball. It will not be easy for the Kings XI Punjab batsmen to face Jofra Archer, especially with the new ball.
