New Zealand vs. West Indies 2020

3rd T20I – Mon, 30th November

NZ vs. WI Match Prediction

New Zealand has amusingly resumed their international cricket sealing the series against the West Indies with two consecutive wins. The third T20I between West Indies and New Zealand hosts is set to take place at the Bay Oval on Monday.

Promising to be a zestfully spirited encounter, with the Windies will need to win this game to bypass demeaning white-wash. The cricketing frat has witnessed an utter crackerjack of a game between the two sides in the past few days.

While New Zealand has won two games, while the West Indies do need to reinforce their bowling lineup, they do have the class to beat the home side, and they could likely do that on Monday. Thus we feel West Indies will come back stronger for redemption.

West Indies will win this game.

Team Preview

The past two T20 has seen several players dish out outstanding performances. Lockie Ferguson’s five-wicket haul in the first game, Glenn Phillips’ blitzing century in the second game, and a few more have been remarkable. Each of the players has displayed sheer class.

New Zealand has no regrets about their routines. Each of their players has stood up well under the captaincy of Tim Southee. Ferguson once again impressed, and so did Kyle Jamieson with the new ball spell. Their fielding was equally remarkable as their bowling.

On the contrary, the West Indies team will be bruising from the disappointing loss. The West Indies were never in the quest in the pursuit and folded up too quickly. They have many world-class T20 specialists. But they haven’t been able to convert into any big performances. Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer were the primary backbones of their respective IPL teams but have been itching to make an impact.  Windies have several match-winners in their roster and will hope to come back harder to regain all the lost dignity.

The venue, Pitch Report, and Toss Prediction:

Another high-scoring clash beckons, with a good batting wicket on offer at the Bay Oval. The bowlers should be in for another rough match, with the ground’s size not serving their cause. Although the fast bowlers should get a fringe of swing early on, the batsmen should play their aggressive game from the very beginning.

Both teams will look to the ball upon winning the toss, with 200 being the parity score at this location. Given the attackers on their rosters, both teams will be able to make proper use of the circumstances in the latter half of the game, during which the ball should slide onto the bat nicely.

Our Match Prediction forecasts that the toss will be critical.

Key Players to watch:

  1. Opening batsman, Martin Guptill, attacking batsman Glenn Phillips and all-rounder, James Neesham of New Zealand will be key players to watch.
  2. Skipper Kieron Pollard, explosive middle-order batsman Shimron Hetmyer and opening batsman Andre Fletcherof West Indies will be the key player to watch.
