Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi Team Previews

Quetta Gladiators (Match Odds – 2.10)

Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators will face off in the league’s second match to kick off their respective campaigns. These two teams are the most consistent in PSL history, having reached at least three finals. Every year, the PSL gains more sponsors and viewers, and we expect it to start off strong this season as well.

Quetta Gladiators, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, are not lacking in talent or experience. Apart from the skipper, they have the likes of Umar Akmal, Shimron Hetmyer, and Sohail Tanvir as their backbone. Aside from them, the young but talented poor of players helps them keep an immaculately balanced side. Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah have recently impressed and will be key for them in this upcoming match as well.

On paper, the Quetta Gladiators have a solid team with plenty of firepower in both departments. They have a lot of experience, which could be important in this upcoming match, given how early it is. They’d need their usual suspects, Umar Akmal, Shimron Hetmyer, and Mohammad Nawaz, to fire, and getting past them could be a difficult task.

Predicted XI: Ben Duckett, Shimron Hetmyer, Umar Akmal, Sarfaraz Ahmed (c), James Faulkner, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah

Peshawar Zalmi (Match Odds – 1.75)

Peshawar Zalmi, led by Wahab Riaz, have assembled a strong squad for the 7th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The Zalmis are bolstered by their swashbuckling top-order, which includes the likes of Hazratullah Zazai, Sherfane Rutherford, and Tom Kohler Cadmore. Furthermore, Shoaib Malik’s presence is a luxury that only a few teams can afford.

While their batting appears to be well-balanced, their bowling appears to be a little light. With Wahab Riaz likely to miss this upcoming contest, their bat-related woes may be exacerbated. Usman Qadir, Sohail Khan, Sameen Gul, and Mohammad Umar will all be competing in this upcoming competition.

Peshawar Zalmi has a very capable team on paper, but the absence of their captain is unquestionably a major loss. With an inexperienced bowling unit, a lot will depend on how high of a total they can post. If their batsmen are in top form, they are capable of setting or chasing any possible total. Overall, Peshawar Zalmi will need to be at their absolute best in this upcoming match, and getting past them will be extremely difficult.

Peshawar Zalmi Squad

Pitch and Weather Conditions

National Stadium is a great track with a lot of bounce and carry. Batters will enjoy playing on this track, which saw scores consistently in the range of 180-190 runs last year. We anticipate that the average score in this match will be around 180-200 runs.

The weather in Karachi is expected to be bright and sunny on match day, with a 10% chance of precipitation. There will be no rain delays in this match. Karachi is a well-known venue on the Pakistani circuit.

Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi Match Prediction

The Quetta Gladiators have one of the strongest squads, with a mix of experienced players and young players. They have the best bowling attack in terms of both pace and spin, and their only concern is a lack of local batting talent. The Peshawar Zalmi has a strong batting lineup as well, but lacks experience in the pace attack and depth in the spin department.

Peshawar Zalmi is the favourite to beat Quetta Gladiators at the odds of 1.75.
