UEFA Champions League 2020-21 Matchday 5
Real Madrid C.F. vs. FC Shakhtar Donetsk – Tue, 1st December
UEFA Champions League 2020-21 Match Prediction:
Shakhtar Donetsk is all set to welcome Real Madrid to Ukraine in the Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League.
Zinedine Zidane’s side will try to book their spot for the Champions League’s last 16 stages. The Real Madrid team is currently at the second position in Group B, three points ahead of Shakhtar, which are placed third and one point behind the leading Mönchengladbach in Group B.
The Real Madrid side will give their all in to win this match as it’ll secure them to advance to the knockout round in the competition. Zidane’s side will enter this match after a 2-1 home defeat by Alavés in La Liga, but they remain fourth in La Liga, six points behind the leading Real Sociedad.
Los Blancos have lost the last two seasons in the round of 16. They thus will give their all in to win this match and then battle Mönchengladbach for the first position at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium on 9th December, but inconsistency has been a real problem for them this season.
To qualify for the round of 16, Shakhtar needs to win their match against Real Madrid and Inter Milan. The Ukrainian giants humiliated Real Madrid at Bernabeu with a scoreline of 3-2 on 21st October.
Shakhtar defeated Inter at Ukraine in their second group match. Still, the Ukrainian giants have had a humiliating result in the last two games. They have lost a 6-0 home game against Mönchengladbach and then lost against them even in Germany with a 4-0.
Luis Castro’s side picked up an important win over Dnipro, which led them to sit second on the table behind Dynamo Kiev. The 13-time Ukrainian giants still have two tough games to play in the Champions League, but they might not be completely confident due to their previous results.

Real Madrid’s form in all competitions: WWLDWL
We predict that Real Madrid will win 2-1 against Shakhtar Donetsk as the Los Blancos side are determined to take revenge after their previous loss against Shakhtar and also because they will try their best to bounce back from their loss against Alavés.
Real Madrid will win this game.
Khocholava, Konoplyanka, Korniienko, Dentinho, and Ismaily are all set to miss their game against Real Madrid due to the injuries they’re currently facing. Moraes and Pyatov will return to the starting XI for this match to recover from the last two losses.
Madrid’s Luka Jovic, Hazard, Ramos, Carvajal, Valverde, and Alvaro Odriozola will miss the match as they’re injured. Benzema and Lucas Vazquez will return to the starting XI in this match.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s possible starting lineup: Pyatov, Moraes, Dodo, Solomon, Bondar, Marlos, Matvienko, Tete, Cipriano, Antonio and Maycon
Real Madrid’s possible starting lineup: Courtois, Rodrygo, Vazquez, Benzema, Varane, Vinicius, Nacho, Odegaard, Mendy, Kroos and Casemiro
We foretell that it will be a tough win for Real Madrid against Shakhtar Donetsk as the home side will also give their best as a win is the only hope for them to pass for the Round of 16 but we fancy Zidane’s side to pick up all the three points.
