Sri Lanka vs India – 3rd ODI Match Preview and Betting Tips

Sri Lanka came within inches of defeating India in their previous match, but it was not to be. Deepak Chahar scored 69 not out (his previous best was 12) to help India recover from a difficult situation. It was a nail-biter that demonstrated that India’s victory cannot be taken for granted.

Sri Lanka vs India Team Previews

Sri Lanka

The Sri Lankan team’s batting performance in the previous match was much improved, but there were still a lot of runs left on the table. Sri Lankan batsmen got off to a good start but were unable to convert them into big scores.

Only two of the five batsmen who went past 30 were able to convert that into a fifty-plus score.

The boundary counts were also much higher in the second match, with Sri Lanka hitting 24 fours compared to 14 in the first. Surprisingly, only 1 six was hit in the second match.

In this match, the Total Fours betting market is also worth investigating.

Sri Lanka’s batting needs to improve significantly, and we believe it can easily post a 300-plus total if it plays to its full potential. Being a little smarter against the Indian spinners, on the other hand, will be crucial.

Sri Lanka’s batting was superior, but its bowling was not. Wanindu Hasaranga was the only bowler who appeared to be in command of the Indian batting. In his ten overs, he took three wickets and conceded only 37 runs. His bowling was so much better than the others that you can bet on him to get a wicket or even be the best Sri Lankan bowler in this match.

Sri Lanka’s previous match was lost due to a lack of control and penetration from the bowlers. Even if Sri Lanka changes a couple of players for this match, there is no easy solution to that problem.

Sri Lanka ODI Squad

Avishka Fernando, Minod Bhanuka(w), Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka(c), Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Lakshan Sandakan, Kasun Rajitha, Akila Dananjaya, Isuru Udana, Ramesh Mendis, Lahiru Kumara, Asitha Fernando, Ashen Bandara, Praveen Jayawickrama, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Pathum Nissanka, Lahiru Udara, Shiran Fernando, Ishan Jayaratne

India

India may be 2-0 up in this series, but we don’t think it’s been particularly impressive, especially with the ball. The pace of the fast bowlers has been lacking, and the spinners have been floaty half-volleys far too often. The only reason India has gotten away with this kind of bowling in this series is that Sri Lanka’s batting lacks the discipline required to capitalize.

We would not recommend betting on Bhuvaneshwar Kumar or Deepak Chahar in this match.

Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets and was the most effective of the bowlers. He is at his best when he is not being relentlessly attacked, and he appears to have the measure of this Sri Lankan batting unit. Not a bad bet in the top bowler betting market in India.

India’s true strength in this series has been its batting. Even when wickets continued to fall in the second ODI, the run-rate remained consistently high, allowing the lower order to consolidate without being put under pressure.

Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav will play their game and attack no matter what happens. India hit 31 fours in the second match, easily more than Sri Lanka did, and there is a good chance that will happen again. The Most fours betting market is an easy recommendation.

Now that the series has been decided, India may make a few changes for this match. Sanju Samson is fit and available again, so he could bat higher in the order. In any case, India’s batting is far superior to Sri Lanka’s, and this is where it will gain the most ground.

India ODI Squad

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan(c), Ishan Kishan(w), Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Krishnappa Gowtham, Nitish Rana, Navdeep Saini, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy, Devdutt Padikkal, Chetan Sakariya, Sanju Samson

Sri Lanka vs India Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss will almost certainly want to bat first. So far, the chasing team has won both matches, but that is unlikely to influence the teams as they try to get a big total on board and then ramp up the pressure.

Sri Lanka vs India Pitch and Conditions

On match day, rain is expected in Colombo, which could result in several stoppages. The hope is that a result will be obtained, but there is a small chance that the game will be rained out.

So far, the pitch has been excellent for batting, and that will not change. There is no pace to work with for the bowlers, and the spinners must also work hard.

If a full 50-over game is possible, scores of around 300 should be easily achievable.

Sri Lanka vs India Betting Tips

We will back India to win this series 3-0. They have won the previous ten games against Sri Lanka, but that doesn’t mean much. Because different players on both teams participated in those matches, they are unconcerned about the history. We believe India will win this match because its batting is far more powerful and explosive than Sri Lanka’s.

Most Fours – India (1.22): The return on this bet isn’t particularly high, but it’s as close to a sure thing as you can get in betting. We believe that this Indian team will be able to hit more boundaries than Sri Lanka, regardless of the length of the match.

Any Player to Score a 100 – Yes (1.85): So far in this series, no century has been hit, but that could change in this match. The weather is the biggest threat to this bet’s success. The rain may cause havoc, so be wary of this risk. In our opinion, a century is very likely if a full 50-over match is played.

You can bet on India to win.

Interesting Trivia

  • If India wins the third ODI against Sri Lanka, it will be the country’s 11th consecutive victory over the hosts. Only Pakistan has a better home record in Bangladesh (14 wins), South Africa (13) and England (12) in Zimbabwe. In July 2012, India lost an ODI against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka.
  • Only India’s record of seven consecutive ODI victories at the R Premadasa Stadium is bettered by their performance at the Harare Sports Club (9). India’s most recent ODI defeat at the venue occurred in 2019.
  • After the Champions Trophy in 2017, Dasun Shanka became Sri Lanka’s tenth ODI captain. Dimuth Karunaratne is the only captain who has won more games than he has lost during this time. Sri Lanka has had five captains, including Shanka, who have never led the team to victory.
