Women BBL 2020 Match 39: SYTW vs. PRSW – Sun, 15th November
Women BBL 2020 Match Prediction
Match 39 of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2020 has the Perth Scorchers Women taking on the Sydney Thunder Women at the Sydney Showground Stadium on Sunday. It is the second match of the quadruple-header Sunday 15th November.
The last time these two teams met in the first half of this season, skipper Rachel Haynes of Sydney Thunder and Heather Knight stole the game from Perth Scorchers with a partnership of 108 runs. Even with desperate efforts from Beth Mooney couldn’t save the game for the Scorchers.
Our Women’s BBL Match Prediction predicts that PRSW will win this match on 15th November, continuing their three-game winning streak.
The Perth Scorchers have a new-look squad this season, and they have impressed with ten points in nine games so far. They managed to double over the Sydney Sixers courtesy of Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney’s exploits over the last week. Winning three impressive games on a trot, they’ve made their way back to the top four. Despite their bowling attack lacking in maturity, the Scorchers have managed to do well and will be eyeing a top-four finish in the business end of this WBBL 2020. Beth Mooney and skipper Sophie have been the top run-scorers for Perth Scorchers, and the team will heavily rely on them.
The Sydney Thunder have been excellent so far, with four wins in just six completed games. Riding on the fortunes of Sammy-Jo Johnson and Heather Knight, the Thunder has struck a nice balance between ball and bat and occupies a spot in the top two of the points table. They have an incredible depth in both the departments, bat, and ball. With the likes of skipper Rachel Haynes and Phoebe Litchfield itching to make telling contributions with the bat, we should witness a brilliant contest between two very talented sides on Sunday.
As WBBL 2020 heads towards its business end, the Scorchers will be careful not to get complacent even as they seem to be the clear favorites. We should be in for a cracking game between these two exciting teams with all to play for.
The venue, Pitch Report, and Toss Prediction:
The wicket at the Sydney Showground Stadium is a competitive one, with something for each department. The pace bowlers should get the ball to swing around early in the power playz, but the batters might still look to attack them with the field restrictions in effect.
The spinners, too, should have a significant say in the proceedings, with the pitch expected to slow down considerably as the match progresses. Therefore, both the skippers will ideally want to bat first upon winning the toss. Our Women’s BBL Match Prediction predicts 150 will be a decent score to defend at this venue.
Key Players to watch:
- Beth Mooney, Sophie Devine, and Taneale Peschel from Perth Scorchers and Lizelle Lee and Sophie Molineux from Sydney Thunder will be key players for this game.
