Premier League 2020-21

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. vs. Manchester City F.C. – Sat, 21st November

Premier League 2020-21 Match Prediction

Manchester City FC travels to North London to take on Tottenham Hotspur FC in the Premier League on Saturday evening 21st November. As we witness Pep Guardiola vs. José Mourinho, we will be in for a cracking contest.

Tottenham Hotspur is currently placing second on the points table, five points ahead of the upcoming rivals, Manchester City in Premier League, with a game in hand. Man City’s failure to score more than once in a League game can surely not go on for any longer, and we expect them to come away from this match with a point.

This will be a close game, mostly since both these teams have recently built up a run of decent momentum and have had a knack for winning matches even without being at their best.

We are predicting a draw score in this game.

Team Preview

With the international breaks out of the way for the inevitable future, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will look for their teams to rebuild ahead of steam leading into the congested festive period fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur is on a bull run after winning each of their last three Premier League games. The only game that they have not won recently was due to a spectacular capitulation against West Ham United at home. Still, Jose Mourinho will be bold of his side, being able to match Manchester City stride-for-stride. Note that Man City has not entirely dried up in front of goal – only two other clubs better their tally of nine goals in three games.

Tottenham Spurs remained undefeated against Manchester City last Premier League season, including a 2-0 win in the corresponding match, which ended a run of six extraordinary meetings without a victory. Indeed, Tottenham has now won both of their home fixtures against them at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and could triumph in three consecutive home editions of this fixture for the first time. Spurs have beaten Man City 24 times in total during the Premier League era, a tally of victories only Chelsea can better against the Citizens.

Tottenham Hotspur will be without prime man Matt Doherty, who tested positive for COVID-19. And there are doubts over the fitness of Tanguy Ndombele and Bergwijn. In a boost for Pep Guardiola, Sergio Aguero should be available for the squad again after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Brazilian footballer, Fernandinho’s injury is expected to keep him out for some more time, as is the case with Benjamin Mendy. Nathan Ake, too, picked up a hamstring injury in an international match with the Netherlands and will miss this upcoming game.

We could learn a lot about Tottenham Hotspur’s title credentials from this game. Victory would be a real statement of intent for all teams, and Man City’s patchy form this season will make them confident of pulling off a win that would send them to the summit. However it comes, Pep Guardiola will know the importance of returning to winning ways this weekend.
