West Indies vs. Sri Lanka 2021 : BOWLERS TO MAKE A MARK || 2nd Test

West Indies vs. Sri Lanka 2021

2nd Test – Mon, 29th March

West Indies Are Poised:

West Indies held on remarkably for a draw in the first game after losing their way. After the first innings, they had appeared set for a 1-0 lead but encountered an astonishing Sri Lanka comeback.

West Indies got a lead of 102 runs after packing up Sri Lanka for 169 and then demonstrating batting depth. Kyle Mayers, John Campbell, and Rahkeem Cornwall, who top-notched at No 8, all exhibited nuggety traits.

It went downwards in the third innings, though, as they allowed a mammoth 475. Shannon Gabriel went wicketless throughout the match could come under burden from Jomel Warrican, thinking Cornwall was able to get wickets.

Possible playing XI: Kraigg Brathwaite (C), John Campbell, Joshua Da Silva (WK), Kyle Mayers, Jermaine Blackwood, Kemar Roach, Jason Holder, Rakheem Cornwall, Nkrumah Bonner, Alzarri Joseph, and Shannon Gabriel/ Chemar Holder.

Sri Lanka Gaining Confidence:

Beaten by England at home with failures a regular highlight, and then suffering losses in the white-ball series on this visit, one could have excused them for bending after being dismissed inexpensively on day one.

And then they howled back. Critically, five batsmen found form to give them the confidence to do it on different wickets: the standout batsman, Pathum Nissankawho, on debut, recorded a brilliant 103. Lahiru Thirimanne, Dhananjaya de Silva, Niroshan Dickwella, and Oshada Fernando also scored crucial runs.

The bowling is not exceptionally powerful, though. On a rough surface, Sri Lanka would have been disheartened only to take four wickets. Suranga Lakmal took five wickets in the first push, and it’s a boost to see him delivering a highly competent spell.

Possible playing XI: Dimuth Karunaratne (C), Lahiru Thirimanne, Dinesh Chandimal, Niroshan Dickwella (WK), Oshada Fernando, Dhananjaya de Silva, Vishwa Fernando, Suranga Lakmal, Pathum Nissanka, Dushmantha Chameera, and Lasith Embuldeniya.

The venue, Pitch Report, and Toss Prediction:

The second Test between Sri Lanka and West Indies will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua starting 29th March Monday.

A challenging wicket signals in Antigua with some help accessible for the bowlers. Apart from the additional bounce and swing early on for the speedsters, there is enough in this pitch to keep the spin bowlers fascinated.

The wicket should slow down as the game proceeds, although the batters should find the price for their shots once they get grooving to tunes.

Both sides will look to bat first upon winning the toss, with both of them improbable to favour batting on Day 5.

Tops Value:

This is a cutthroat heat. West Indies is at the odds of 1.83, Sri Lanka is at 3.05, and then draw 5.80. We see worth in the latter part.

Recent favouritism can be our nemesis in betting. But it can also be our acquaintance if we agree that others could put too much shop in what occurred in the first game. Any extensive partnership in the first innings in this game is expected to see odds cut off the deadlock.
