Zimbabwe vs. Pakistan 2021 : BIG NUMBERS ON BOARD || 1st Test

Zimbabwe vs. Pakistan 2021

1st Test – Fri, 29th April

Zimbabwe has selected five uncapped players in its roster for this series and while we would enjoy thinking that is ability coming in from the domestic form, it is owing to an absence of performances from the players that were chosen before them.

Zimbabwe does not get a lot of cricket against top-flying rivals. In the last three years, Zimbabwe has only played Test Cricket against Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh and so this series against Pakistan is a big deal.

The real task for Zimbabwe comes in the bowling line-up. Its bowling roster is hardly able to pick up 20 wickets and just does not have the wicket-taking skill required.

Possible playing XI: Prince Masvaure, Tendai Chisoro, Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams, Blessing Muzarabani, Regis Chakabva, Luke Jongwe, Kevin Kasuza, Tarisai Musakanda, Donald Tiripano, Richard Ngarava.

There is no rationale why Pakistan should enjoy this match and even be disturbed by Zimbabwe, nevertheless, stranger things have occurred in cricket. Pakistan has a full-strength team for this series and some exceptional options for all aspects of the game.

Several batters scored strongly in the South Africa series. Mohammad Rizwan and Fawad Alam got a hundred while Faheem Ashraf persists to amaze with his batting. He was the highest run-scorer among all the batters in that series.

There is just so much penetration in the Pakistani bowling line-up that they can choose any four bowlers out of the roster and triumph in this game. Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali are the first pick.

Possible playing XI: Imran Butt, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Abid Ali, Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf.

The venue, Pitch Report, and Toss Prediction:

The wicket at Harare Sports Club has been hard for batting since both fast bowlers and spinners get assistance from the conditions. However, the conditions seem different lately. The pitch seems quite flat and dry.

And thus, we reckon, the batters are going to relish playing here. The bowlers will have to out the hard mile, as there might be very little assistance for them on this flat wicket. Low bounce, slow pace, and some slow turns are anticipated in this game. Hence, we believe, the skippers are going to be lured into choosing to bat first on winning the toss.

Tops Value:

We have no reluctance in supporting Pakistan to win this game. That is an evident bet and does not have too much price in terms of the return you will get but there is just nothing to indicate that Zimbabwe will pull off a shock.

As expected, Pakistan is at the odds of 1.25, Zimbabwe at a whopping 9.25, and a draw at 6.75. Pakistan has a healthier bowling attack, an excellent batting line-up, and regularly plays against the top teams in the world. Thus, we are in for a cracker in this game.
