Zimbabwe Women vs. Pakistan Women : PAKISTAN TO SEAL THE SERIES || 2nd ODI
Zimbabwe Women vs. Pakistan Women 2021
2nd ODI – Thu, 11th February
The Pakistani Rampage:
Pakistan Women bowlers ran all the way through the Zimbabwe batting line-up to pack them out for 77 and clinch a mammoth 178-run victory in the first ODI in Harare. Previously, Aliya Riaz (74 runs) and skipper Javeria Khan (81 runs) put up a 157-run partnership to take them to 255.
After being asked to bat, Pakistani openers Muneeba Ali and Ayesha Zafar returned to the pavilion within the 10th over, with speedsters Esther Mbofana and Nomvelo Sibanda accounting for their wickets, and that got Javeria to the wicket. She hit eight boundaries in her 116-ball span, which also got her the Player-of-the-Match presentation. Tasmeen Granger then got rid of Nida Dar, following which Riyaz joined the party with Javeria for the fifth wicket to take Pakistan to a redoubtable total.
The visitors have bounced back stronger after the comprehensive defeats in South Africa. They should be poised and should eye to seal the series with a formidable win in this upcoming game.
Possible playing XI: Javeria Khan (C), Nahida Khan, Aliya Riaz, Sidra Nawaz (WK), Nida Dar, Diana Baig, Nashra Sandhu, Omaima Sohail, Anam Amin, Aiman Anwer.
Hosts Look Timid:
Zimbabwe Women had no exposure to international cricket for over a year before the last game. The hosts returned to the field for the first time since May 2019. They are using this series as part of their formulations for the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2021 and should try to make the most.
Zimbabwe’s first three wickets fell to pacers Fatima Sana and Diana Baig within the first eight overs, following which spin bowlers Sadia Iqbal, Dar, and Nashra Sandhu took over and annihilated the middle order. Only two Zimbabwe batters managed to get double-digit figures, as they lost their last seven players for mere 37 runs to be bundled out within 35 overs.
Possible playing XI: Mary-Anne Musonda (C), Kellies Ndlovu, Josephine Nkomo, Precious Marange, Francisca Chipare, Tasmeen Granger, Pellagia Mujaji, Modester Mupachikwa (WK), Nomvelo Sibanda, Lorraine Phiri, Christabel Chatonzwa.
The venue, Pitch Report, and Toss Prediction:
Zimbabwe Women will take on Pakistan Women in the second of the three-match unofficial one-day series at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe on Thursday.
The wicket at Harare Sports Club is a pleasant bowling one with a plethora of help on a deal for spin bowlers in particular.
Overcast and gloomy conditions will also come to the assistance of the speedsters. The batters will have to expend some time in the middle before hitting the bowlers. The skipper who wins the toss will want to bowl first to take full benefit of these conditions.
Pakistan – The Commanding Turmoil:
The Pakistani team has absolutely dominated the clash, and so will be the case on Thursday. The one-sided affair will prevail, and betters will be wary of the odds. The Zimbabwe team languish at the odds of 8.50, while the dominating Pakistanis team is at 1.03.
As evident as the numbers seem, so has been the presence of the Pakistani team’s sovereignty. Their loss back in South Africa has all been redeemed. On paper, they have one of the finest teams in International cricket.
Captain Javeria Khan and Nida Dar will be the star players to watch out for. They put on a show to enjoy and should be a treat in this game as well.
